Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that a stronger, united opposition is now underway to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.
Atiku picked up his ADC membership card on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Jada 1 Ward in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State. His registration was conducted by Senator Sadiq Yar’Adua, National Secretary of the ADC Registration and Mobilisation Committee.
“Now I have picked my membership card of the ADC. The real opposition has begun,” Atiku said. “We will work in concert with other leaders of the opposition and Nigerians to chase the APC out of government.”
He urged his supporters and Nigerians who desire a new direction for the country to register with the ADC.
Adamawa State ADC Chairman, Hon. Shehu Yohanna, who joined Sen. Yar’Adua in conducting the registration, said Atiku’s entry marks the beginning of a statewide registration drive across all local governments and wards. He encouraged youths and women nationwide to seize the opportunity to join the party.
Senator Yar’Adua echoed the call, urging Nigerians to register and ensure they participate actively in the electoral process.
The event was attended by key members of the Adamawa Coalition, including former Governor Bindow Jibrilla, Senator Aishatu Binani, Senator Ahmed Hassan Barata, Senator Aziz Nyako, and Senator Ishaku Abbo.
