The Ashipa of Ogbomosoland, Sir Olusegun Adekunle KJW, has extended warm New Year greetings to the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders and all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland at home and diapora as he ushered the people into the year 2026 with a message of hope, unity and collective responsibility.
In his New Year message made available to the press, Sir Adekunle congratulated Kabiyesi, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, for his leadership and prayed for continued strength, wisdom and good health for the monarch in steering the affairs of the ancient town. He also appreciated the resilience, support and contributions of Ogbomoso indigenes at home and in the diaspora, noting that their sacrifices remain vital to the growth of the land.
The legal luminary described 2026 as a year that must be deliberately shaped by progress, development, collaboration, security and human capital development, calling on all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland to rise above divisions and personal interests in order to work for the collective good of the community.
Sir Adekunle specifically urged community leaders, opinion moulders and stakeholders to strengthen cohesion and mutual understanding, stressing that unity remains the strongest tool for generating the momentum required to attract development, investment and sustainable growth to Ogbomosoland.
He offered prayers for all traditional and political leaders, asking God to grant them grace, wisdom and courage to lead with integrity, fairness and a deep sense of service to the people, particularly at a time when communities face evolving social and economic challenges.
Addressing the youth, the Ashipa encouraged them to enhance their competitive edge by embracing technology and other forms of skills that are in global high demand because the economy has become fully knowledge driven.
Sir Olusegun Adekunle KJW concluded by expressing optimism that with unity of purpose and a renewed commitment to service, 2026 will mark a turning point for Ogbomosoland, bringing greater peace, security and shared prosperity for all.
