Arch. Sakiru Suara Succeeds Sir Olusegun Adekunle as O-First President

The Ogbomoso First Community Initiative (O-First Group) has elected a new executive team, with Architect Sakiru Akinola Suara emerging as the new President.

Suara succeeds Sir Olusegun Adéyemí Adékúnlé, ESQ, OON, who served as President for four years.

The election took place during the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Sir Demola Dare-Williams Hall, LSG Hotel, Randa Area, Ogbomoso. The outgoing president, Sir Olusegun Adékúnlé, officially handed over leadership instruments to Suara, marking the beginning of a new administration.

In his farewell speech, Adékúnlé expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and highlighted key achievements under his leadership. These included infrastructure development, healthcare outreach programs, educational support initiatives, and empowerment projects that have positively impacted the Ogbomoso community.

He emphasized the importance of progressive leadership, unity, and modernization in the face of evolving socio-economic challenges. He also pledged his continued support for the group and urged members to collaborate with the new leadership.

Architect Suara, in his acceptance speech, thanked members for their trust and outlined his vision for the group. He emphasized strengthening organizational structures, fostering unity, supporting education and healthcare, and promoting Ogbomoso’s cultural heritage through various initiatives.

The newly elected executive committee includes:

  • Architect Sakiru Akinola Suara – President
  • Mr. Tunde Ige – Vice President
  • Professor Jide Ajao – General Secretary
  • Dr. Akanni Segun Ajala Otunba – Assistant General Secretary
  • Òtunba Bayo Egunbiyi – Member Secretary
  • Mr. Shittu Kabiru Oladimeji – Financial Secretary
  • Mr. Idowu Oyedapo – Social Secretary
  • Barrister Foyeke Bolade – Legal Adviser
  • Engineer Adedamola Dare-Williams – Chief Whip/Welfare Officer

With the new leadership in place, the O-First Group is set to continue its mission of fostering development and unity in Ogbomoso.
