Residents of Apete, Awotan Community and Environs on Thursday celebrated a former DPO in Apete Police Division CSP Grace Akinsehinwa for her versatility and effectiveness during her period of service in Apete.
Akinsehinwa who served the community between 2021 and 2023 was presented with an Award of excellence and several gift to appreciate her doggedness and commitment.
At, send forth program which was held at D Ace Hotel Traditional rulers, community leaders, representative of the Area Commander, religion leaders and others graced the occasion.
Some of the people who spoke at the event paid a glowing tribute to her for her versatility and commitment to securing the community and infrastructural transformation of the station.
Chairman of Awotan Community, Mr Rasaq Fabayo said CSP Akinsehinwa did not just coperate and make the security job easy in the community but also instrumental to transformation of many youths with criminal tendencies.
When she came I though it would be a worse moment in Apete because i believe Apete was too notorious for her but when i approached her i reaized she is more than capable, her approach to security was pragmatic and fruitful
“We did not want her to leave us as at the time her transfer letter came but we have to let her go so as to influence and effect positive changes in her new place of assignment. Though she has a worthy successor but we are going to miss her motherly and friendly relationship.
CSP Grace Akinsehinwa who was accompanied to tthe veneu with her husband and children said she owe everything she achieved in Apete Police station to God and the people of Apete community and its environs for their cooperation and understanding.
” I knew i cannot do it alone and i really appreciate you all for your understanding and cooperation and please extend the same to my successor.
Her husband while recounting her Wife’s ordeal in Apete said ” I remember a day she came home crying, it was a period when a guy was raping people in the area, we knelt before God and that week the criminal was arrested, she is passionate about her Job and we are grateful for this honour
