This was made known in a statement issued and made available to journalists by Mr Bili Azeez on behalf of the Oyo APC Non-Align Movement group at the end of a meeting held at the residence of an aspirant for the Chairmanship position, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi shortly after the meeting.

The said meeting, which was however, disrupted was called to decide on how the positions that were zoned to Oke Ogun zone 1 would be allocated to the Local Governments that made up of the region.

They alleged that Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi who convened the said meeting at his residence in Ilero, Kajola local government area was not qualified to do so because he was an aspirant for the said Chairmanship position and that was why the meeting was distrupted

According to the statement, “the actual Stakeholders that were supposed to be in such a meeting were conspicuously absent because they were schemed out of the meeting by not being invited to be part of those who were qualified to participate in the said meeting.”

They alleged further that “The refusal of Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi to allow critical Stakeholders to be part of the meeting led to the disruption of the meeting at about 5.30pm.

“At the meeting, several people made nominations for each of their Local Governments to have the Chairmanship position zoned to their Local Governments like Iseyin, Iwajowa, and Itesiwaju The meeting became disrupted after Hon Ajiboye Omodewu, a former Commissioner under late Governor Abiola Ajimobi insisted with a motion that the Chairmanship position be zoned to Itesiwaju Local Government, where Hon Dele Akinleye (former State Secretary) was the most acceptable candidate, which was overwhelmingly accepted by the majority at the meeting. Another motion that Kajola be considered was not be allowed.

“At that point, a pademonium broke out and everyone ran for their safety. Only for a somebody to present a fake report that the positions for Oke Ogun Zone 1 has been distributed, a decision, which was never taken or discussed at all.”

“The decision of the entire people of APC Oke Ogun Zone 1 is that Mr Dele Akinleye be duly nominated as the consensus candidate of the party APC in Oyo State, come Saturday 16th October, 2021.”

The group called on members of the APC in the State to discontenance with the news making the round of the purported endorsement of Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi from Kajola Local Government for the Chairmanship position because only Dele Akinleye was nominated and approved at the said meeting and his nomination would be endorsed at the Congress venue by the stakeholders and members of the party on Saturday 16th October, 2021. The group concluded.
