The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has extended warm felicitations to the Osun State Chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Olaniyi Lawal, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

In a goodwill message on Thursday, Dr. Basiru described Sooko Lawal as a visionary leader whose unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership qualities have continued to stabilize and reposition the APC in Osun State.
“I rejoice with you on this special occasion, Mr Chairman. Your leadership qualities have held the party together, while your magic wand has given Osun APC the strength it needs to weather the political storm in the state,” Dr. Basiru stated.
He further praised Lawal’s simplicity, gentle disposition, and sociability, noting that these traits have endeared him to party members and leaders alike.
According to him, Lawal’s dedication to the party has not gone unnoticed at the federal level, as evidenced by his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan.
“I pray Allaah to bless your new age and endow you with more wisdom to be able to paddle the canoe of our party to a safer harbour,” he added.
Sooko Lawal, a native of Ile-Ife, was a former Commissioner for Home Affairs and Tourism in Osun State. He assumed office as Acting Chairman of the APC in the state following the installation of Prince Gboyega Famodun as the Owa of Igbajo. He was later confirmed as substantive chairman in July 2023 after a commendable performance during his time in acting capacity.
An alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Lawal holds degrees in Economics and Public Administration. He has also served as the Executive Secretary of Ife East Local Government.
Party faithful across the state have continued to send in their best wishes, describing him as a stabilizing force in the Osun APC and a leader whose experience and dedication continue to inspire.
