The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has described the death of Honourable Bisi Odewumi as a personal and devastating loss.
Odewumi, a former Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, passed away on Thursday at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, after a brief illness.
In a statement, Dr. Basiru said the late Odewumi was not only a loyal political ally but also a trusted advisor who strongly believed in the Alubarika Movement project.
“He was a big brother who related well with me despite our age gap. Honourable was a man of few words, but full of wisdom and native intelligence. His politics were centrifugal and altruistic,” he said.
“I have lost an advisor, a reliable companion, and a core Progressive. I am dejected, but at the same time, I take solace in the fact that he led a meaningful and impactful life,” he added.
Dr. Basiru prayed for the repose of Odewumi’s soul and for God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
