Ambassador Ademola Oyepeju Ara has formally announced his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the decision as a reaffirmation of his long-standing commitment to progressive politics and the development of Oyo State.
In a birthday message infused with reflection and optimism, the Oluyole local government born politician and businessman said the internal challenges that rocked the party during the 2023 elections prompted many loyal members, including himself, to temporarily step aside. He noted that divisions, internal conflicts, and feelings of disenfranchisement weakened the party and created an opportunity for opponents to capitalize on its disunity.
Despite this, Ara stated that he continued to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC at the federal level, working tirelessly to ensure the success of the administration.
“As a lover of my beloved Oyo State, I choose to celebrate my birthday by preaching sincerity and accountability,” he said. “Our party faced serious setbacks in 2023 because we allowed disagreements to overshadow our shared goals. The proverbial ‘stranger’ benefited from our discord while we suffered the consequences.”
According to him, the lessons from the electoral defeat have strengthened the resolve of genuine progressives to rebuild the party. Ara, who hails from Oluyole Local Government, emphasized that the APC remains the most progressive political platform in Africa and said he is returning with full conviction.
“For these reasons, I, Amb. Ademola Oyepeju Ara, am officially announcing my return to the great party, APC—the largest political party in Sub-Saharan Africa,” he declared.
He called on key party leaders and governorship aspirants, including Senator Teslim Folarin, Oloye Bayo Adelabu, Barr. Akeem Agbaje, Oloye Saheed Oladele Baameko, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari and others, to close ranks and work collectively toward reclaiming Oyo State in 2027.
Ara expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, insisting that with unity and renewed commitment, APC is poised for victory in the next election cycle.
“My track record speaks for itself, and I’m confident that with collective effort, we’ll secure a resounding victory in 2027 and beyond. The arithmetic is clear—APC will emerge triumphant,” he added.
He concluded by offering prayers for Oyo State, Nigeria, President Tinubu, and the APC.
