The Alubarika Movement has congratulated Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his ratification as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the party’s 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Olamolu, the movement—speaking on behalf of the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru (PhD)—described Prof. Yilwatda’s emergence as a “testament to his exceptional pedigree, discipline, and enduring commitment to democratic values.”
Prof. Yilwatda, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction and former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State, was confirmed at a NEC meeting presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The Alubarika Movement praised the president for what it described as “political foresight and strategic depth,” ensuring a smooth and inclusive leadership transition in the party.
“Prof. Yilwatda brings to the table a wealth of experience spanning nearly three decades in governance, engineering, strategic planning, and community development. His credentials make him a unifying figure and a visionary leader for our party,” the statement said.
The movement also commended APC stakeholders, including governors, lawmakers, and party leaders, for their “statesmanship and party-first spirit,” which facilitated what it called a historic and seamless change in the party’s national leadership.
Senator Basiru reaffirmed his unwavering support for the new National Chairman and expressed optimism that his leadership would usher in greater cohesion, issue-based mobilization, and strategic planning for the 2027 general elections.
The statement concluded with a call for unity within the APC and prayers for wisdom and strength for Prof. Yilwatda as he assumes the party’s top position.
“Congratulations once again to the People’s Chairman,” the movement stated.
