A developmental expert and founder of the Global Initiative for Nigeria Development (GIND), Engr. Michael Ale, has hosted a colourful end-of-year party for children in his hometown of Aiyegbaju Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The children’s fiesta, which attracted scores of young residents from the community and neighbouring areas, was marked by joy, laughter and celebration as Engr. Ale created a festive atmosphere specially designed to put smiles on the faces of the children.
Highlights of the event included gift distribution to children who took turns to visit Santa Claus, as well as the provision of sumptuous meals for all attendees. The venue was enlivened with music, games and other entertaining activities, adding to the excitement and fun that defined the celebration.
Speaking at the event, Engr. Ale, who is the founder of GIND, advised the Nigerian government to compel all C-suite companies to establish social infrastructure within communities to help families ease stress on a regular basis, rather than limiting such engagements to the Yuletide season alone.
He noted that while there are many event centres across the country, they are often used mainly for weddings and burial ceremonies. According to him, governments and private organisations at all levels must initiate and support regular social events and facilities that bring people together, foster unity and promote overall wellbeing.
Community members and parents applauded Engr. Ale’s initiative, describing the party as a thoughtful and impactful gesture that demonstrated his commitment to community development and the happiness of children.
Participants described the celebration as remarkable and unforgettable, noting that it was an indelible experience the children would cherish for a long time, further reinforcing Engr. Ale’s reputation as a development advocate dedicated to giving back to his community.
