His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, the Alaafin of Oyo, has issued a Cease and Desist notice regarding an unauthorized coronation committee allegedly being set up in Oyo Town.

In an official statement personally Signed by the monarch, the Alaafin made it clear that any committee or activity related to his coronation must have prior approval from His Imperial Majesty and his office. Any action taken without such authorization will be deemed illegitimate and unacceptable.

The notice also emphasizes that all meetings and fundraising activities associated with the unauthorized committee must be stopped immediately. The royal family, in consultation with relevant stakeholders, will determine the necessity and composition of any official coronation committee if required.

While acknowledging the efforts of those involved, the Alaafin reassured the public that they will be informed as necessary regarding future developments. All individuals or groups planning to initiate any activity related to the Alaafin’s coronation must seek clearance from the palace before making it public.

The statement concludes with a firm directive for the immediate dissolution of any apparatus associated with the unauthorized committee.
