The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno as announced a landmark empowerment package for visually impaired gospel singer Chris Vic following his emotional ministration at the State Unity Concert in Uyo.
The governor disclosed that a plot of land has been approved for allocation to the artist, with a Certificate of Occupancy slated for signing next week. In addition, the government will construct a four-bedroom flat for him and fund the establishment of a standard music studio with ₦100 million, separate from the cost of the land and housing.
He also announced that Chris Vic will receive a monthly stipend of ₦1 million for the duration of his tenure in office.
The governor said the gesture was inspired by the singer’s powerful display of faith, strength, and resilience, noting that his performance served as a reminder that praise is possible in every situation.
He added that the intervention reflects his administration’s commitment to caring for persons living with disabilities and nurturing exceptional talents within the state.
The Unity Concert, which marked the beginning of the Christmas season in Akwa Ibom, brought residents together in worship, gratitude, and reflection on the state’s heritage of love and unity.
The governor called on the people of Akwa Ibom to remain united across political and ethnic lines, stressing that unity remains the state’s greatest strength.
