As part of his efforts to put smiles on the faces of the people of the state, Ondo State governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has directed that civil servants in the state be paid the arrear of salary owed them, starting with the month of August.
The governor, who gave the directive yesterday, said the civil servants must be paid the one month salary before Easter.
According to the press statement signed by Segun Ajiboye, his Chief Press Secretary ,“We know that our people are suffering, and I have decided that there is the need to put smiles on their faces. Therefore, I have decided that civil servants in the state should be paid their salary for the month of August before Easter.”
It will be recalled that the last administration left behind a salary arrears of six months, between August 2016 and January 2017.
Akeredolu had at his inauguration made a promise to ensure workers in the state get their salaries as at when due, a promise he has kept with the workers getting their salaries for the months of February and March.
