
Renowned philanthropist and community leader, Alhaji Monsur Ayoade Ejide, has once again demonstrated his commitment to educational development with the donation of critical equipment to the Psychology Laboratory of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
The equipment was formally handed over during a brief ceremony held at the Department of Psychology on Thursday. Present at the event were the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu; the Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Olufunmilayo Adedoyin Oyinlola; the Dean of FASS, Professor Frank Ebijuwa; alongside other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Ejide, who is a childhood friend of the Vice Chancellor, reaffirmed his willingness to continue supporting the growth and development of the institution. He noted that his previous interventions include the construction and donation of a multimillion-naira, state-of-the-art bakery to the university.
He further disclosed that his family remains committed to making regular contributions to the Department of Psychology while also extending support to other areas of need within the university.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kalilu, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a significant boost to the department’s academic and research capacity. He also commended Professor S. K. Balogun for his efforts in nurturing the Department of Psychology within its relatively short period of existence.
Professor Kalilu assured that the university would continue to recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations that contribute to its growth and development.
