Nottingham Forest have gained promotion back to the Premier League after they defeated Huddersfield Town in the Championship Playoff Final 1-0 on Sunday.
This was secured after an own goal secured the victory for the Reds, meaning the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool will be playing at the City Ground next season.
The victory caps a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for Forest, who were bottom of the Championship with just one point from seven matches when Steve Cooper was appointed head coach in September.
Recall that the club was bottom of the table when Steve Cooper took charge in September but stormed up the table to book their place in the play-offs. A penalty shootout-win over Sheffield United got them to Wembley, setting the stage to get the job done in a tight encounter against Huddersfield.
The most recent appearance of the club came in 1998-99, when the Reds finished rock-bottom for a third time in the space of seven years, and they have now spent 23 years outside of the Premier League pack.
Play-off semi-final heartache was endured at Championship level in 2002-03, 2009-10 and 2010-11, with Forest, who spent three seasons in League One between 2005 and 2008, unable to drag themselves over the promotion line.
