Otunba Babatunde Adesokan has reinforced his candidacy for the position of National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies, citing his regulatory experience and private sector leadership as key strengths.
Adesokan, the immediate past Vice President, Western Zone of NANTA, played a pivotal role in overseeing efforts to regulate and support travel agencies across the region. His tenure, according to industry stakeholders, was marked by initiatives aimed at strengthening compliance, promoting professionalism, and addressing operational challenges facing members.
Running on the campaign slogan “Make yourself seen and heard,” Adesokan said his background positions him to improve communication, transparency, and stakeholder engagement within the association at the national level.
He also brings significant private sector experience as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Caprisok Travels and Tour Services, a role he said has provided him with practical insights into the needs and expectations of travel agencies operating in a competitive market.
In his five-point manifesto, Adesokan pledged to enhance effective communication between the leadership and members, promote strong advocacy for the industry, ensure accessibility to critical information, provide proper representation for the association, and foster teamwork within the National Executive Council.
The NANTA election campaign is gaining momentum as stakeholders intensify consultations ahead of the vote. Ibadan, widely known as the “City of Firsts,” is expected to host key activities leading to the election.

Observers say Adesokan’s blend of regulatory experience within NANTA and executive leadership in the private sector could shape his appeal among members as the race for the association’s spokesperson role gathers pace.
The election, which forms a key highlight of the AGM, will take place during a week-long lineup of activities scheduled in Ibadan, popularly known as the “City of Firsts.”
According to the official programme released to our reporter by the Zonal VP Prince Ajibade Olaleye activities will commence on Tuesday, April 14, with a Welcome Night at the NANTA Western Zone Secretariat.
On Wednesday, April 15, participants will embark on a city tour of Ile-Ife and Ibadan, departing from the Jogor Centre Car Park.
The conference proper begins on Thursday, April 16, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, featuring exhibitions and industry discussions.
The final day, Friday, April 17, will host the exhibition, conference sessions, and the much-anticipated election in the morning at the same venue, while a Gala Night is scheduled for the evening at the Jogor Centre.
With the election drawing closer, stakeholders say the structured AGM and anniversary events will provide a critical platform for candidates like Adesokan to engage members and present their vision for the future of the travel industry in Nigeria.
