Eminent personalities in Itesiwaju local Government united for the election of ward executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which held today across the country.
The team whose mobilization attracted huge crowd at the wards across the council area included former Chief of Staff to Governor Abiola Ajimobi and Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC),Professor Adeolu Akande who voted in Ward 8,Otu. Hon Kola Olabiyi,former member of the House of Representatives voted among a mammoth in Ward 5,Okaka.Ambassador Debo Adesina,former editor of the Guardian and the Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, was unavoidably absent but his teeming supporters across the council turned out in hundreds to be part of the colorful Congress.
Four former Chairmen of the local government also teamed up with others for congress in the local council. They included Hon Ipade Olarinre(1999-2001), Hon Thomas Olayode (2001-2003),Hon Olarinre Adisa(2011-2015) and Hon Abdulfatai Niyi Adeagbo(2016-2019) Olarinre voted in Ward 4,Komu,Thomas voted in Ward 5, Okaka, and Hon Adisa voted in Ward 4,Komu.
The others in the leadership cadre of the APC in the council are Hon Dejo Adebisi,former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abiola Ajimobi who voted in Ward 10 and scores of former local government councilors and elders of all progrssives parties in the council area since 1999.
The only notable personality in the APC in the council area who was conspicuously absent in the exercise was the Commissioner for Lands and Housing under Governor Abiola Ajimobi Hon. Jiboye Omodewu.
However, a mammoth crowd in his Ward 9 in Otu, turned up in their hundreds to be part of the celebration of the rebirth of the party in the council area.
