The Abuja Breakfast Club, a fast-growing social association of professionals from diverse backgrounds, has celebrated its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) with a humanitarian outreach to a motherless babies’ home in the Federal Capital Territory.
The club, which started over a decade ago as a small group of friends meeting for casual sit-outs, has now grown into a structured and recognized association with its own clubhouse located in a prime area of Abuja. What began as an informal gathering of fewer than ten individuals has evolved into a strong community of like-minded individuals united by friendship and service.
On December 6, 2025, members of the club, led by its President, Engr. Philip Okpanefe, visited Mother Theresa Motherless Babies Home in Gwarimpa as part of activities marking the AGM. During the visit, the members presented gift items to the children and spent time interacting with them, bringing smiles and renewed hope to the home.
Beyond social bonding, the Abuja Breakfast Club has continued to distinguish itself through consistent community service. In 2024, the club donated exercise books and other educational materials to public schools, reinforcing its commitment to grassroots development and support for education.
Speaking at the event, President of the club, Engr. Philip Okpanefe, described the outreach as a reflection of the club’s core values of compassion, unity and societal responsibility.
With more than ten years of existence and eight successful AGMs recorded, the Abuja Breakfast Club has continued to strengthen its legacy as not just a social group, but a platform for positive social impact, community development and purposeful friendship.
