Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the Lagos residence of the Ajimobi family following the death of their daughter, Mrs. Abisola Kola-Daisi.
Mrs. Kola-Daisi, daughter of former Oyo State Governor, the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, passed away in the United Kingdom on March 27 after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Kolapo Kola-Daisi, and their three children.
Governor Abiodun was accompanied on the visit by former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. The visit was marked by moments of solemn reflection and heartfelt prayers with the bereaved family.
In a message shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Governor Abiodun described the late Abisola as “a beacon of warmth, elegance, and compassion” whose loss is deeply felt beyond her immediate family.
“Words fail to convey the depth of our sorrow at this heartbreaking moment,” the governor wrote. “Bisola’s passing is an unspeakable tragedy, not just for the Ajimobi family, but for all of us who have had the privilege of knowing and loving this remarkable soul.”
He extended his sympathies to Her Excellency Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, the widow of the late governor, acknowledging the immense pain of losing a child. “The pain of losing a child is a burden no parent should ever bear. I pray that the Almighty grants the family the fortitude to navigate this dark valley.”
Governor Abiodun also reflected on the longstanding ties between the Ajimobi and Abiodun families, stating, “This loss strikes us deeply and personally. As always, we stand with the family in love, in prayers, and in unwavering support.”
The late Abisola Kola-Daisi was widely admired for her grace and charitable spirit. Tributes have continued to pour in from across Nigeria’s political, social, and business circles.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
