The Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises, (AAASME) has created awareness on how to entrepreneurs can access $1.48 billion Continental SME Fund Roadshow.
It will be recalled that on June 28,2025 along the margins of Afreximbank Annual Meetings,the 4th Africa SME Roundtable event held at Abuja,Nigeria organised by the All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises(AAASME) where it was resolved amongst others to unveil continental SME fund tagged “Ubuntu Susu” which is an Afrocentric Model concept of revolving contributory finance.
This is indigenous to Africa and has been successfully sustained over several years cutting across Africa,Caribbean and all people of African descent.
The Ubuntu Susu is a novel idea serving as Alternative recipe of access to finance for Africa’s SME ecosystem inclusive of the Diaspora which is recognised as its 6th region.
In a statement by AAASME President Dr.Ebiekure Jasper Eradiri, the advocacy for an Afrocentric Model of finance and Alternative recipe of access to finance canvassed by AAASME since 2019 has gotten traction by critical stakeholders even the leadership of Africa’s traditional Institutions that signed up at the African Union Headquarters,Addis Ababa,Ethiopia during 2024 edition of Africa Celebrates event.
Consequently, an itinerary for roadshow sensitisation commences on Tuesday September 9,2025 at IATF, Algeria and then to global stage at WTO,UNGA engagements.
The structure of the Fund is set to be Pre-launched at the 2025 edition of Africa Celebrates event which is a fusion of the Continent’s heritage,fashion,music,business and night of Excellence scheduled for November 4-10 in the AU and UNECA facilities at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
