The Oriire Youth Council (OYC) joined family members, friends, dignitaries, and well-wishers to celebrate the 80th birthday anniversary of Chief Adebayo Johnson Bamikole — a highly respected elder statesman, community leader, and distinguished public servant from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Chief Bamikole, who has served the state and his people with remarkable dedication, was at various times the Commissioner for Finance and Commissioner for Health in Oyo State. He began his political journey as the Councilor representing Ikoyi-Ile Constituency under the defunct Oyo Local Government, marking the beginning of a lifetime of service and leadership.
Speaking with journalists after the event, the National Chairman of OYC, Comrade Owonikoko Sarafadeen, described Chief Bamikole as “a visionary leader and father figure whose life and service continue to inspire the younger generation of Oriire.” He added that the octogenarian’s exemplary record in governance and his unwavering commitment to humanity embody the true spirit of selfless leadership.
Other members of the Council present at the celebration included Comrade Joshua Ojo, Ex-Officio I and Member representing Oriire Youths at the Oyo State Youth Parliament, and Comrade Gideon Aremu, Ward 9 Representative of OYC. They both expressed deep appreciation for Chief Bamikole’s immense contributions to the growth and development of Oriire and Oyo State at large.
In its goodwill message, the Oriire Youth Council prayed for long life, sound health, and greater joy for Chief Bamikole, wishing that he continues to reap the rewards of his decades of service, sacrifice, and dedication to humanity and community development.
