Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Dr Taiwo Lasisi, has commended a former student of the institution and founder of Lekan Adisa Foundation, Dr. Lekan Adisa, for donating a modern convenience facility to the school.
Speaking on behalf of the polytechnic management during the official handing over of the facility, the rector stated that the initiative was a response to the call that alumni of the institution should give back to the school to aid its academic and structural development.
“I express the polytechnic management’s appreciation and commendation to Adisa for his generousity, support and invaluable contribution to the development of the institution,” he said.
In his response, Adisa expressed his gratitude to the Department of Public Administration for its contribution to his development when he was a student at the department.
He said, “This project represents my contribution to the development of the school. Through the foundation I have established for the development of mankind, more project will be executed in the school.
“My advice is that alumni of this great institution should commit themselves to the course of the school and give back to it to reflect a deep sense of responsibility towards societal development.”
He added that the event marked an important step in promoting environmental development within the institution to foster conducive learning environment for students.
Head of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. O. Oyewo, while delivering his address also encouraged students to take proactive steps in positively impacting their immediate environment.
