The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saki West Local Government has addressed concerns surrounding land leases in the area, assuring residents that the process remains free from political bias and committed to transparency.
In a statement signed by former Deputy Governor and party chieftain, Engr. Hamid Gbadamosi, the PDP emphasized that no outright sale of land would be permitted. Instead, all leases will adhere to due process, ensuring that the proceeds directly benefit the community. The party also noted that investigative panels have reviewed the matter and confirmed that proper procedures were followed.
Highlighting key achievements, the PDP detailed various infrastructure and community development projects, including the dual carriageway construction, OYSADA renovations, stadium construction, healthcare improvements, and other initiatives. The Saki West Local Government under Hon. Gbenga Akinola has also undertaken projects such as the construction of a motorized borehole in Eko Kan, distribution of motorcycles to security operatives, installation of solar lights in motor parks, provision of exercise books for primary school pupils, and the planned reconstruction of Kolawole Shopping Complex.
Acknowledging gaps in communication, the PDP pledged to strengthen engagement with stakeholders, including Saki Parapo, the Okere-in-Council, former local government chairmen, and other community representatives. The party also urged local authorities to explore acquiring land outside the town to accommodate future expansion and development needs.
The PDP further vowed to resist any attempts to politicize the issue and reiterated its focus on fostering sustainable growth and serving the people of Saki West.
