Renowned Physicist, Prof. Kale Oyedeji, Dies at 82

Professor Kale Oyedeji, a distinguished physicist and academic, has passed away at the age of 82 in his hometown of Ogbomoso.

Prof. Oyedeji was an esteemed scholar with a remarkable academic journey spanning continents. He earned his BSc in Mathematics from the University of Ibadan before furthering his studies in the United States.

He obtained a Master of Arts in Physics from Fisk University, a Master of Science for Teachers in Physics from Rutgers University, and a Ph.D. in Physics from Howard University.

With over 40 years of teaching experience, he was a full professor of Physics at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia. Before his tenure at Morehouse, he taught at Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. His career in education also included early teaching roles in Nigeria at Ogbomoso Girls High School and Baptist Girls High School, Osogbo.

Beyond academia, Prof. Oyedeji was deeply involved in professional scientific communities and the Ogbomoso diaspora. He was an active member of both Physics and Mathematics professional organizations.

He played a pivotal role in Ogbomoso Parapo of Georgia and was a founding member of Ogbomoso Sons and Daughters in North America (OSDNA), demonstrating his commitment to his roots.

His contributions extended to the corporate sector as well, serving on the board of directors of DE-CONS, an engineering firm based in Lagos.

Details about his burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
