The Olorile of Orile-Ifo, Oba Abdulsemiu Adewale Ogunjobi has been arraigned in court
The monarch, who appeared before a court in Ifo, Ogun State, was charged with three counts: conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the case was heard today, February 4, and the defendant was granted bail.
The matter has been adjourned until March 6, 2025, for further proceedings.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to upholding the rule of law and maintaining the core values of our noble profession,” Adejobi stated.
The viral video, which sparked outrage on social media, showed the traditional ruler allegedly assaulting an elderly man, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.
