Dignitaries, prominent clerics, friends, and family gathered on September 27 to celebrate the 70th birthday of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel.
The grand celebration took place at the church’s headquarters in Ota, where attendees dressed in coordinated white and blue attire filled the auditorium to capacity.
Prior to his birthday, Oyedepo had expressed a desire for his congregation to prioritize soul-winning as a birthday gift. However, he was surprised with a range of lavish gifts, including a luxurious Rolls Royce Cullinan and a remarkable N1 billion donation aimed at feeding 50,000 individuals at Canaanland.
President Bola Tinubu in his birthday message praised Oyedepo for his legacy in nurturing leaders and highlighted the church’s significant contributions to education, health, and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
Amidst the vibrant celebration, Oyedepo danced joyfully to musical performances by renowned artists Adeyinka Alaseyori and Nathaniel Bassey. During his speech, he expressed gratitude, stating, “I give glory to God. I am a representative of the icon of icons, who is Jesus; my glory and lifter of my head. I am simply fronting for him. He is the one behind the scenes working 24 hours every day. A man cannot be any more than the grace of God at work in him. I will never pose to be an achiever but one who is a beneficiary of God’s grace.”
His wife, Faith Oyedepo, also shared her pride in their union, expressing a wish to have a mansion beside his in heaven.
Among the esteemed guests were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, governors of Lagos, Ogun, and Delta states—Dapo Abiodun, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Sheriff Oborevwori—as well as Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and eminent clerics such as Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Poju Oyemade, Jerry Eze, and Matthew Ashimolowo.
The celebration highlighted not only Oyedepo’s influential role within the church but also the broad impact of his ministry on the community and beyond
