It was a black sunday in Ise Ekiti, Ekiti state as some members of St Mark Anglican, Church Ise Ekiti died in motor accident.
The accident occured at Afolu along Ikere on Sunday morning
Though what was responsible for the crash is yet to be ascertain but it was gathered that three people died while other sustained various degree of injuries
The chairman Ise/Orun local government Hon Bamikole Ayodele has commiserates with the church and family of the deceased
Hon Ayodele in a condolence message signed by Assistant Ojuawo Olabode wrote ” I am deeply shocked and saddened about the accident that occured at Afolu along Ikere on Sunday morning.”
“On behalf of the people of Ise/Orun local government and I, i convey my heartfelt Condolence to Venerable E. T Babalola and entire members of St. Mark Anglican Church Ise -Ekiti, the family of those who were injured and those who lost their lives.
“Hon Ayodele prayed for God to console and uphold the family involved.
“The Local Govt chairman encouraged good people of Ise /Orun LG and Body of Christ to take heart and accept the will of God Almighty in good faith.”
Confirming the accident, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ekiti State, Olusola Joseph, said that two persons died instantly, while 10 occupants were injured.
Joseph added that those that were injured had been rushed to hospital.
Speaking on the cause of the accident he said, “It was a tyre burst that was responsible for the accident involving the 18-seater bus.
“We will continue to appeal to motorists to keep to speed limits. They know the nature of the roads, so they should be very careful while driving on the roads.
“At the same time, they should keep to traffic rules and regulations,” he said.
