National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies NANTA , has urged the president-elect to take advantage of the tourism potentials in Nigeria to develop economy and create jobs.
The Vice President Western Zone, Otunba Babatunde Adesokan gave this urge while speaking on the expectations from the incoming administration in Nigeria.
He expressed dismay over the inconsistency of the successive state and federal government on the travel and tourism sector and advised Asiwaju Tinubu not to toe the same line with his predecessors.
Adesokan said ” Nigeria is blessed with humongous Natural resources and tourism potential, we have enough resources to be the prefered tourism destination in the world but unfortunately our leaders didn’t see the reasons to make use of the advantage and it is displeasing.”
” Tourism and agriculture are visible alternative sources of income and job creation, travel industries will also be active as the inflo of traffic into the country will be heavier and beneficial to the nation”
Our president need to engage competent hands, critical stakeholders in the industry and review tourism policies with the aim of changing the narratives through effective implementation of ideas that will enhance development.
NANTA VP also urge the state governors to include tourism in their plans and complement the effort of the Federal government on effective implementation of policies.
