A middle aged ma simply identified as Mohit has been arrested by police for allegedly killing his father and grandmother over property in Shahjahanpur
local residents according to www.dailypioneer.com claimed that there was some dispute between the father and the son regarding property and two exchanged heated words over the issue on Thursday morning.
The dispute took a bloody turn when the accused son shot and killed his father and also his grandmother after she intervened to resolve the issue.
The neighbours called the police after which the local cops along with senior officers, including Superintendent of Police of Shahjahanpur, S Anand, reached the spot and started investigation. The police registered a case and sent the bodies for autopsy.
Reports said that Bhagwati, the grandmother of Mohit (accused) had sold seven bighas land in Markakka village under Tilhar police station four months back. She had given half of the money to her son Shyam Pal. The rest of the money was kept by her for her treatment and other expenses. Her grandson Mohit was asking her to give him the remaining money.
Twenty days ago, Mohit got married. Before marriage, Mohit had asked his grandmother to give him money for expenses so she gave him some money. But soon after marriage, Mohit exerted pressure on his grandmother to transfer two acres of land in his name. On this, Mohit’s father Shyam Pal abused him and warned him for threatening his mother Bhagwati.
Over the same dispute, Shyam Pal and Mohit abused each other on Thursday morning and as Bhagwati came to intervene, Mohit took out a country-made pistol and opened fire to kill his father and grandmother. The local residents rushed to the house after they heard gunshots but by then the accused had escaped along with his newly-wed wife Satyawati.
The police later conducted raids and managed to nab Mohit.
