In continuation of his consultation,
the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Senatorial candidate in Oyo North, Hon. Akinwale Solomon Akinwole on Friday visited Islamic clerics in Ogbomoso.
The meeting which was held at Ogbomoso Central mosque Ojaagbo had in attendance the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Sheikh Teliat Ayilara, Alfas and Imams, and others across Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire Federal Constituency.
Akinwole, who was accompanied by His Campaign Director General, Hon AbdulJeleel Oyinloye, Alh Garba Olaoye, Alhaji Abu Arije, Alhaja Adijat Aremu, Hon Sayo Alagbe, and others while addressing the gathering promised to not denigrate or discriminate against Islam
He said, he is in the race to represent everybody and he would ensure equity and fairness in the sharing of dividends of democracy across the religious divide in Oyo North.
The Director General of the campaign, Hon AbdulJeleel Oyinloye, in his opening remark said, the essence of the visit is to present Hon Wolekanle as the candidate, interact with the clerics and seek their wise counsel and prayer.
He added that Akinwole Akinwale is the choice of the people because he is a liberal politician who will not betray the confidence reposed in him.
End Abu Salami who was also part of the entourage said he is solidly behind the candidature of Akinwale Akinwole as the party Senatorial candidate, “I withdrew my ambition and I declared total support for Hon Wolekanle and I want you to embrace and support him.
The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Sheikh Teliat Ayilara in his remark harps on the need for politicians to be upright and focus on lifting people out of poverty and unholy situation.
He said religion is not supposed to be a factor in the country’s political system but the abuse of privilege, unequal treatment, and cheating has forced it into the system and placed it as a reality and major determinant in the system.
While acknowledging the good deeds and contributions of Hon Akinwole to the development of the society, The Grand Chief Imam and others urged him to continue with the spirit of kindness and service to God and Humanity.
The meeting ended with special prayers for Hon Akinwale Akinwale and his entourage.
Leaders of various groups in Islam, the League of Imams and Alfas, NACOMYO, Ogbomoso Muslim Community, Chief Imam of LAUTECH, and others were also at the meeting.
