4 killed, 186 Rustled Animals Recovered as Police Repel Terrorists in Kastina

Police in Katsina State say they have gunned down 4 terrorists during two different sting operations conducted at Yelwa, Hakinbiri and Na-Iraqi in Danmusa and Safana local government areas while repelling attacks.

The command’s spokesperson, Superintendent Gambo Isah who disclosed this while briefing the media at the command headquarters, said  that they succeeded in recovering 189 rustled animals, 2 operational motorcycles from the terrorists and destruction of their camps.

Displaying the corpse of the 4 suspected terrorists neutralized, Gambo Isah said one of the attacks occurred at Yanmama village in Malumfashi while the other was at Tugu Gari village in Matazu Local Government Areas.

He explained that Upon receipt of distress calls, the Divisional Police Officer of kankara and the area commander of Dutsinma both mobilised and blocked the terrorists exit routes and engaged them in a gun duel leading to the repelling of the attacks and recovery of 189 rustled animals and capture of the 2 operational motorcycles of the terrorists.

The state Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda Dabban commended the efforts of the personnel in repelling the terrorists urging members of the public, to continue to cooperate with security agencies in the ongoing onslaught against terrorism in the state.
