The Olukere of Ikere,
Oba Abdulganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin, Okomolese II, has commended the entire management and staff of Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture for their innovative initiatives which are usually borne out of the cultural values, objects, heritage and items of Ekiti State.
Oba Obasoyin made this observation when he paid a visit to the Director-General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Ambassador Wale Ojo -/Lanre, in his office, located at the Ekiti State Cultural Centre, besides Federal Inland Revenue Service, Secretariat Road, Ado Ekiti on Friday.
Oba Obasoyin said he purposely came to visit the Council to discuss on the 2020 Olosunta of Ikere Festival, a festival which Governor Kayode Fayemi through the Council has placed on the Comity of intercontinental festivals and also to commend the Council for showing the relevance of Aso Oke to the health sector and as a protective object of saving humanity from death.
Oba Obasonyin pointed out that the Aso Oke being made in Ekiti is fit for medical uses in so many ways as it could also be used as a duvet in the hospitals because it is air proof.
He disclosed that he was happy with the modus operand of the Council which is always ever responsive and prompt in reaction to matters arising an example is the production of the face mask with Aso one .
In his response, Ambassador Ojo – Lanre lauded Oba Obasoyin for his proactiveness when it comes to promotion of Arts, Culture, and Tourism of Ekiti.
He disclosed that all that the Council is bringing into the fore are the policy vision and directives of Governor Kayode Fayemi who is passionate about the revitalization and rejuvenation of the pristine cultural values and heritage of Ekiti.
He assured Oba Obasoyin of the readiness of Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture at ensuring a memorable 2020 Olosunta Ikere Cultural Festival
