The Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole has felicitated with Muslim faithful across the length and breadth of Nigeria on the successful completion of one of the five basic tenets of Islamic injunction, Ramadan fast.
He prayed Allah accept all supplications and sacrifices offered in the Holy Month, and may the personal experiences and vital lessons of Ramadan that accommodates self –  degratification and benevolence of helping the less privileged in the society stay permanently with us as a united and strong indivisible Nation.
In a statement released by his media office and signed by Owoyokun Samson, He also admonished citizens of Nigeria to maintain healthy living as a lifestyle, a prerequisite towards ensuring a disease free society.
If we enjoy good health which is the total integration of our mind, soul and body, productivity and effectiveness in our endeavours will come cheaply. We can always play our roles dutifully by living above board in a safe and clean environment with good nutrition, observe standard practices diligently on health related issues, be conscious and vigilant towards the symptoms of any form of disease alien to our body system, no matter how common or minute it might be, and making ourselves available in the nearest accredited health facility for medical scrutiny.
As a government, we shall continually pursue policies that are very fundamental to human safety and existence to guarantee efficient healthcare service delivery that remains qualitative and accessible. We shall use all means possible within the ambit of the law to rejuvenate and transform the medical landscape of Nigeria through prevention and control of communicable diseases, our purpose driven mission to make our primary healthcare centres functional is gathering momentum through partnership from local and international partners.
We are recording landmarks initiatives to grant full free treatment to all HIV/AIDS patients, produce our vaccines locally, prioritizing the care of the children, women, physically challenged and our aged, extending support to the poorest Nigerians that require medical surgeries without recourse to any payment. We shall not rest on our oars.
