Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole has called on Christians around the world to be more loving, ensure peace and be fervent in prayers on the occasion of Easter celebration.
Wolekanle, as the philanthropic APC Chieftain is fondly called by his admirers, urged the Christian faithfuls to put on the Christlike attitudes at all times , reflect on the reasons for the season and obey all the prescribed measures against the spread of the pandemic Coronavirus disease.
“Easter is a season for sober reflection about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a season of great sacrifice, love and peace for all. Jesus Christ died for us to live, He cried for us to laugh and suffered for us to be free from all afflictions and bondages. These and many more the Saviour did for us but how have we reciprocated these selflessness?”.
” Coronavirus is unbelievably real so we need more comportment, sacrifices and commitment to defeat this COVID-19 pandemic. Forget about the house party, get together, few friends coming over, visiting few friends, having church or fellowship together, small gathering or meeting”.
“All these places are perfect breeding spot for this virus to spread amongst non-symptomatic people.
Kindly take all those “perfect “ plans of yours and throw them into the bin. Stay at home and spend Easter with only your family and get connected with others by phone,if need be”.
” We must pay special attention to the social distancing , regular hand washing and use of sanitizers measures as well as obedient to all other preventive measures spelt out by the National Centre For Disease Control(NCDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund(UNICEF) to stop the spread of this deadly disease”.
“I will continue ,in my usual humane gestures, continue to roll out relief packages to cushion the effects of this pandemic by God’s grace. It is my prayer that the Lord will heal our land, bring normalcy to humanity and grant us the grace to celebrate many Easter periods , but not indoor and in these restricted manners. Amen”, Wolekanle posited.
