A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state Engineer Muftau Open Salawu has described the emmergence of  former governor of Oyo state Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party as a right choice


Salawu in an interview with journalists said that Ajimobi appointment is coming at a time when the party require a more versatile person, someone who is well exposed with strong character.

He express optimism that the party will benefit from the wealth of experience of Sen Ajimobi who has been a two time governor, former senator and Managing director in multinational companies.

“With all this experience he should not just be in the cooler, but he should be contributing his quota at all levels so far he has the health to do so which I believe he can” Muftau said.”

While  appealing  to the aggrieved members of the party in the state to shelve their grievances and eschew the bitterness, salawu said “It is time for all of us in APC to understand some basic principles of life, which is the spirit of forgiveness. There is no way you will govern a very complex state like Oyo that everybody will just smile at you and love you.”

He has done very well as a governor, talking about the level of development in the state during his era and his contribution to infrastructure of the state which has no equal, in term of security he did wonderfully well and the people of the state can confirm that with what is happening.”

He affirmed that the former governor will definitely add value to the national activities of the party and at the state level. Where he called on those having concern on the way the party reconciliation will go, to come together and see that’s it’s not about individual but the entire party.

The Ogbomosho born politician, therefore congratulate the entire APC family, maintaining that he believes that the new deputy National Chairman will perform excellently
