In line with the approval of His Excellency , The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for the immediate commencement of Health Insurance Scheme in the State, the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency will on Monday, 12th June, 2017, Open registration centers for all the citizens of the State to access.
According to the Executive Secretary, Oyo State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Olusola Akande at a press conference in his office today, said all machinery have been put in place for the commencement of the scheme in the State as from Monday, June 12, 2017.
Dr. Akande according to a press statement signed by the Agency Media Officer Cosmos Olalekan Oni, said the registration centers will be at the Headquarters of all the Local Government Council and Local Government Development Areas of the State, the offices of Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), designated Health Care facilities in all the Local Government and office of the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency.
He stressed further that as at today, the Agency has deployed modalities to renovate at list Ninety-Nine (99) Primary Health Care Centers and equipped then with modern equipment to facilitate quality health care delivery.
According to the Agency boss, the registration fees is Two Hundred Naira (N200) and monthly payment of Six Hundred and Fifty Naira (N650) or Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Naira (N7,800) per year and an opportunity is also open for installmental payment of the scheme.
The Executive Secretary said with the commencement of this scheme, the Agency will provide job opportunity for 99 Medical Officers, 99 Pharmacist, 198 Nurses and 198 Mid-wives with other cadre of health workers.
On the benefits of the scheme, it will cover antenatal care for pregnant women and children between the age of 5 years free of charge, others treatment include Hospital consultation, Hospitalizations (First Seven days), laboratory and other investigations, immunizations and minor surgeries.
