Leonard Ezenwa Replaces Omoyele Sowore as AAC Chairman

Dr Leonard Ezenwa has emerged the new National Chairman  of the Africa Action Congress AAC

He was elected at  a special convention of the party held in Owerri , the Imo state capital

Ezenwa became the acting chairman of the party following the suspension of its National chairman  Omoyele Sowore who doubles as the chairman and presidential candidate of the party during the 2019 election

The party suspended Sowore and eight others, including its Deputy National Chairman (South West), Ogunlana Rotimi Jacob, for a period of six months over alleged anti-party activities.

But the sowore’s faction  in a statement by Joshua Adeoye, Deputy National Secretary, said the planned ‘convention organized by  the expelled National Secretary ‘ was a move by Nzenwa to hijack the party for financial gains

“This criminal effort is purportedly led by one Leonard Nzenwa, who was recently expelled by the National Executive Committee of the party in a well-attended emergency meeting on the 27th of July 2019. Time and again, this unsavory criminal character has shown he will seek any opportunity for financial gain, including attempting to hijack this great party.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Ezenwa Promised to reposition the party ensure effective participation in 2023 election.

He maintained that the party will no longer allow the party chairman to also be  the presidential candidate  during the election
