SDG: Oyo lawmaker commissions classroom blocks
Arising from his commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, the lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona ara federal constituency, Hon. Taiwo Micheal Akintola on Tuesday commissioned six classroom blocks in his constituency.
Unveiling the projects at St John Anglican primary school and Asaju community primary school in Egbeda area of Ibadan, the state capital, the deputy national chairman of the Action Democratic Congress, Dr Dele Ajadi described education as the bedrock of national development and extolled the lawmaker for facilitating the projects.
Dr Ajadi added, ”politicians of Hon Akintola’s type are rare in the country. He keeps to his words and fulfils his promises despite the fact that he did not win his reelection bid. He still goes on with the completion of projects and fulfilling his promises to the people.”
He further declared that with the spirited efforts, Hon Akintola had represented the party well and contributed immensely to quality education and mental health of his people.
In his own remark, the party local government chairman for Egbeda local government, Hon Kamorudeen kayode Obisesan was also full of joy, expressing satisfaction at the performances of the lawmaker. He stressed that the local government had enjoyed no fewer than five major constituency projects facilitated by Hon. Akintola.
“I am so happy that we people of Egbeda local government have greatly benefited from Hon Akintola educational support. I hope other politicians take a cue from his love for education.”
The principals of St John Anglican primary school and Asaju community primary school, Mrs Adenike Oyeniyi and Mrs popoola in their speeches thanked the legislator for his commitment to the expansion of basic education.
Mrs Adenike Oyeniyi said, “the building is satisfactorily built with electric work and furniture. Lack of classrooms is now a thing of the past.”
Alhaji Rafiu Oyewole, the baale Oluwo, one of the benefitting communities, said “in 60 years, Oluwo community has not received such a wonderful gesture from any politician. I want to thank Hon Akintola for having us in mind and we wish him all the good things in life.”
Akintola reiterated his commitment to the development of the constituency and thereafter laid foundation of another three classroom blocks at Christ Anglican Primary School, Wakajaye, Ibadan.
