The Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan West Local Government Development Area (LCDA) Aleshinloye, Hon. (Prince) Yomi Adefusi on Monday, May 1, urged workers in the area to be more committed in their service, especially at this time of economic strain.
He said the growth of the economy and overall development of the state depends on how much support workers give to government’s policies, programmes and projects.
In a solidarity message to mark the May Day celebration, signed by him, Hon. Adefusi expressed his appreciation and commended the workers and the organized labour movement in the state for their contributions to the overall development of Oyo State.
He said from the pre-independence era till now, the labour movement has provided the backbone for the survival of the country.

He reiterated his promise that his administration will continue to partner with the leadership of the organized labour in his council area, in addressing issues of urgent importance that will positively affect his people.
“No doubt we are not in the best of times as a nation, but with cooperation, dedication and perseverance we can turn our economy around for good and the contribution of every Nigerian worker is key to the realization of this dream.”
“This is why I urge you to remain steadfast and faithful to the efforts being made by the present administration in the state to revive the economy and put the citizenry on the path of growth for the benefit of all Oyo State indigenes,” he said.
