The Baagbile of Egbaland, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, has congratulated the governor-elect of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on his Victory in last Saturday’s Polls.
Majekodunmi who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, said the Victory which was partly in response to our slogan, ‘APC all the way’, is beginning of a new dawn for the People of the State who believed sincerely that the Party is the best for the State and the Country as a whole.
In an interactive session with Journalists in Iperu, Ogun State, he saluted prominent leaders of the APC such as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, the Director General of the campaign organisation, Prince Segun Adesegun, the People of Abeokuta South Local Government (the almighty power base of the opposition) and the entire People of the State, for making the Victory possible.
According to him, for putting their mandate in the hands of Dapo Abiodun by electing him to pilot the affairs of the State for the next four years, the People of the State will have no cause to regret, stating that the governor-elect is a well organized and straightforward person, cerebral and an astute businessman who is very passionate about progress and development of the State and her People. He would work assiduously to turn things around positively for the State.
He said, “The Victory of the governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun, is nothing but Victory for the People of the State who remain undaunted to stand by him and the Party to complete the popular slogan, ‘APC all the way.’ I cannot but join other well meaning citizens of the State in congratulating him for this well deserved victory.
“I want to assure the People of the State that they succeeded in putting a round peg in a round hole by electing Prince Dapo Abiodun as the next governor of our dear Gateway State, he meant well and will certainly deliver on the Electoral Promises in order to take the State to the next level.”
Majekodunmi also lauded the outgoing governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, whom he said fought gallantly with his adopted party, Allied Peoples Movement (APM) during the election, stating that it is important for them to respect the wishes of the people of the state.
He maintained that with what Governor Amosun has achieved in the last eight years, his name cannot be forgotten in a hurry in the history of the State, noting that he has done his best and the rest is for Dapo Abiodun to continue from there.
