The Social Democratic Party, (SDP) in Osun state ,has tasked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state “remain steadfast and committed ” to the SDP/APC coalition in the state.
Also, the party passed vote of Confidence on the leadership of Dr Yemi Farounbi and Senator Dr Iyiola Omisore.
SDP in the resolution issued by its Osun state Publicity Secretary, Honourable Taiwo Akeju after the party’s Extra Ordinary State Working Committee and All stakeholders meeting held on Thursday made available to newsmen pointed out that steadfastness and commitment of the ruling APC in Osun state will be “in the mutual interest of our respective parties and the larger interest of the Osun state people”.
“The Extra Ordinary state Working Committee and All stakeholders meeting of the Social Democratic Party, Osun held on 8th November,2018, resolved that a vote of Confidence be passed and is hereby passed that the party membership in Osun state under the leadership of Dr Yemi Farounbi and Senator Dr Iyiola Omisore and hereby pledge our continued loyalty to their leadership”, it said.
Osun SDP added ” we re affirm our commitment to the goals, ideas and objectives of the SDP in Nigeria. Restate our commitment to the coalition agreement reached with the APC to midwife the victory of Alhaji Isaq Oluwagboyega Oyetola and Dr Benedict Gboyega Alabi, Governor-elect and Deputy governor elect respectively.
” Align ourselves with the five pillars agreement reached with the APC in Osun state and Nigeria to ensure good governance, stability and progress of our dear state. We trust and call on the APC to remain steadfast and committed to the SDP/APC coalition in the mutual interest of our respective parties and the larger interest of the Osun state people”.
The resolution added that the ” State Working Committee should as a matter of urgency liase with the relevant organs of the APC and collaborate towards ensuring a hitch free inauguration of the incoming administration and effective take off of governance”.
Osun SDP Working Committee and All stakeholders at the meeting expressed their “loyalty and confidence” in the state working committee of the party under the leadership of Dr Bayo Faforiji and his state Executive members.
