The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says none of the 89 registered political parties has submitted the list of its sponsored candidates (Form CF002) and personal particulars (Form 001) to the centre designated for the collection of the documents.
in a statement issued yesterday by its National Commissioner and member, Information and Voter Education Committee, Malam Mohammed Haruna, the electoral umpire said the deadlines for the submissions of Forms CF001 and CF002 for the 2019 general elections remained October 18, for presidential and National Assembly and November 2 for governorship and state assemblies.
The statement issued after INEC’s weekly meeting also announced the reorganization of the chairmanship of five out of its 15 standing committees.
According to the statement, Barrister Festus Okoye would now chair information and voter education committee; Prince Solomon Adedeji Soyebi, Board of the Electoral Institute (TEI); Dr Mohammed Mustafa Lecky, planning, monitoring and strategy committee; Mrs. Amina Bala Zakari, health and welfare committee; and Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu, electoral operations and logistics committee.
