The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has urged members of the JDS Support Groups and his supporters across the country to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sanusi specifically charged the support groups to commence structured door-to-door campaigns and community engagements to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Sharafadeen Alli in Oyo State and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The renowned philanthropist and grassroots mobiliser made the call in a statement personally signed by him and made available through his media team.
He emphasised that the strength of any political movement should not be measured merely by its numerical strength but by its ability to translate popular support into votes at the ballot box.
According to him, coordinators and members of the various JDS Support Groups must take the mobilisation campaign to their respective communities, wards and local government areas, encouraging eligible voters to register, collect their PVCs and participate actively in the electoral process.
Sanusi also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a transparent, credible and inclusive electoral process, while calling on security agencies to maintain professionalism and guarantee the safety of voters before, during and after the elections.
He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development, community engagement, youth empowerment and people-oriented initiatives, noting that sustainable political progress must be driven by the collective aspirations of the people.
The Okanlomo Oodua stressed that the time for political mobilisation was now, urging members of the support groups to remain organised, peaceful and committed to democratic participation.
He said every eligible supporter must be adequately prepared to exercise their civic responsibility in the 2027 elections.
“Get your PVC, engage your communities, take the message door to door and get ready to vote. Our collective strength must be demonstrated through active participation in the democratic process,” Sanusi stated.
