Contrary to speculations that the convener of Boye Nation, Hon. Ajiboye Sangodade, has dumped the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the grassroots mobiliser has reaffirmed his commitment to the party, pledging to deploy his network to ensure victory for all APM candidates in the next election.
Sangodade, popularly known as Aji, made the declaration on Thursday while hosting the Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
He dismissed the speculation surrounding his political allegiance, reiterating his determination to support Governor Makinde, the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and other candidates of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The visit attracted a large turnout of Boye Nation supporters, who gave Wolekanle a rousing welcome, creating an atmosphere of political solidarity and renewed commitment to the APM.
Sangodade’s declaration is seen as a reaffirmation of his political position amid speculations about his alleged defection, with the convener expressing readiness to mobilise his supporters and leverage his political network for the party’s success at the polls.
Addressing the gathering, Wolekanle expressed confidence in Governor Makinde’s commitment to people-oriented governance, assuring the supporters that the administration would sustain its developmental initiatives.
He urged them to remain steadfast and intensify their collective efforts towards consolidating the achievements of the Makinde administration, stressing the importance of continuity in sustaining good governance in Oyo State.
The Chief of Staff’s visit was warmly received by Sangodade and members of Boye Nation, who described his appointment as a welcome development.
The engagement also highlighted the significance of grassroots mobilisation and political collaboration as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With his renewed pledge of support, Sangodade has reiterated his commitment to the APM and its candidates, expressing confidence in Adekanmbi’s governorship ambition and promising to work towards the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections.
