Satguru Maharaj Ji, founder of One Love Family, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the heads of the Nigerian Army and Police for urgent intervention in an alleged land dispute involving the Satguru Maharaj Ji Village in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Maharaj Ji made the appeal in an open letter dated October 2, 2026, alleging that pilgrims and members of his community had been harassed, intimidated and detained in connection with activities around the disputed property.
In the letter, he identified a pastor, G.F. David, and two other individuals, whom he named as Okon and Ajibioya, as being involved in the dispute.
He also alleged that security personnel had accompanied some of the individuals to the disputed property, heightening tension in the area.
Maharaj Ji said the dispute had persisted for about two months, claiming that pilgrims and disciples visiting the Satguru Maharaj Ji Village had been subjected to various forms of harassment.
He alleged that some pilgrims had been arrested and detained, adding that his organisation had spent about N10 million on bail, transportation, fuel, hospital bills, damages and other expenses while securing the release of affected persons.
“On the whole we have spent about ten million Naira for bail, fuel, transportation, damages, hospital bills, consultations, etc., (N10,000,000) bail charges in the process of rescuing pilgrims and Disciples from their hands for peace to reign,” he stated.
According to him, the matter had earlier been reported to the Nigeria Police Force and the Oyo State Anti-Land Grabbing Council.
He said the council subsequently convened a meeting involving the parties after his organisation submitted documents relating to the disputed land.
Maharaj Ji further alleged that members of the Aladorin Kudeti family, whom he described as connected to the original ownership of the property, disputed the authenticity of documents allegedly presented by some claimants.
He claimed that the family denied knowing Okon, Ajibioya and Pastor G.F. David and alleged that certain land documents and receipts presented in connection with the dispute were forged.
Maharaj Ji also alleged that the Anti-Land Grabbing Council had directed the individuals he named to vacate the disputed property, but claimed that they later returned with security personnel and other persons.
He said the development had created tension around the Satguru Maharaj Ji Village.
The One Love Family founder further alleged that his lawyers had been instructed to seek an interlocutory injunction restraining the parties from entering or carrying out development on the land.
“Our Lawyers were directed to file an interlocutory injunction restraining them from entering the land but still they continue to build on the land,” he alleged.
Maharaj Ji also expressed concern over the use of the expression “Wetie Crusade” in connection with activities allegedly linked to the dispute, noting its historical association with political violence in the former Western Region.
He urged the security authorities to investigate the matter and take steps to prevent the situation from escalating.
He specifically appealed to the Inspector-General of Police to invite the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, the head of the Oyo State Anti-Land Grabbing Council, the Oluyole Local Government chairman, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Pastor G.F. David, Okon and Ajibioya to respond to the allegations contained in his petition.
He also requested clarification from the Anti-Land Grabbing Council over its handling of documents submitted in connection with the matter, alleging that some documents and information had gone missing before copies were later provided.
Maharaj Ji further called for a review of relevant court decisions concerning the disputed property, particularly the legal status of an earlier judgment which he claimed had remained unappealed for more than two decades.
He said his appeal was aimed at preventing further escalation and ensuring peace around the Satguru Maharaj Ji Village.
He reiterated the One Love Family’s “No War in Nigeria” campaign and called on the Federal and Oyo State governments as well as security agencies to urgently address the issues raised in the letter.
“Long Live The Government of Oyo State, Long Live The Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he concluded.
