The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State has appointed veteran journalists Yinka Oladoyinbo and Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju to lead its Media and Publicity Sub-Committee ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The appointments were announced in a press statement issued on Saturday by the Bimbo Adekanmbi Governorship Campaign Council of the party.
Under the appointments, Oladoyinbo, a Deputy Editor of the Nigerian Tribune, will serve as Director of Communication and Spokesperson, while Olanrewaju will function as Co-Director and Spokesperson.
The campaign council also appointed five deputy directors to the committee. They are Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, Dapo Falade, Bosede Sodiq, Moses Alao and Fisayo Daramola.
According to the statement, all appointments take immediate effect.
Oladoyinbo, who has 27 years of post-qualification experience in journalism, has worked with Daily Trust and The Punch as a state correspondent in Lagos, Ondo and Kogi states.
He currently heads the Politics Desk of the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest newspaper, and previously served as Secretary of Ibadan South-West Local Government.
Giwa-Onafuwa is a broadcast media professional with more than 16 years of experience in radio and television, brand development and content creation.
She holds a master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan and has twice served as a General Manager in the broadcast media industry.
A TEDx speaker and professional master of ceremonies, she also serves on the boards of Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan.
Falade, another appointee, has over 20 years of experience covering journalism and politics.
He rose to the position of Deputy Editor at the Nigerian Tribune, where he served as State Correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers states and Lead Senate Correspondent in Abuja.
In May 2020, he founded Newscoven.com, a digital news platform.
The Bimbo Adekanmbi Governorship Campaign Council said the appointments were part of its arrangements for the campaign in Oyo State.
The statement was signed by the campaign council on September 26, 2026.
