Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Senatorial ambition of Honourable Shina Peller has received a massive boost as the Iba of Kishi, the paramount ruler of Kishi land, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, Arowoduye II, openly endorsed the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Oyo North Senatorial District.
The royal blessing was conferred on Friday when Peller led a high-profile delegation to the monarch’s palace in the Irepo Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The APM standard-bearer was accompanied by prominent party executives, loyalists, and his mother, Alhaja Silifat Abeo Abiola Peller, affectionately known as Lady Peller.
The visit held deep historical and familial significance, acting as a homecoming for the senatorial hopeful. Lady Peller is a prominent daughter of Kishi, born to the late Alhaji Soliu Ali, widely revered as Kiniun Adini, who served as one of the most distinguished Chief Imams of Kishi Land.
Embracing this rich cultural and religious heritage, the Iba of Kishi warmly welcomed Peller as a true son of the soil, offering fervent royal prayers and blessings for his resounding victory in the forthcoming polls.
Addressing the royal court, Peller articulated a compelling vision for his candidacy, asserting that he stands as the most uniquely qualified contender to unite and elevate the district.
He highlighted his deep-rooted connections across the three major geographical blocs of Oyo North. He noted that his father hails from the Oke Ogun I axis, his mother is a native of Oke Ogun II (Kishi), and his academic foundation was built in the Ogbomosho axis, where he earned both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Beyond his geographical ties, Peller emphasized the critical need for seasoned political expertise to manage the diverse interests of Oyo North’s 13 local government areas. He positioned himself as the sole candidate possessing the requisite legislative experience to hit the ground running.
According to the APM candidate, this distinct advantage ensures that the district will receive effective, high-level representation and desirable democratic dividends at the 11th National Assembly.
