The monarch gave the commendation in a statement on Friday following the release of the victims, who were kidnapped from Ahoro-Esiele, Yawota, and Alawusa communities in Oriire LGA and later rescued after weeks in captivity.

Oba Alao, who said he played a leading role in coordinating community support for the rescue efforts, described the operation as a major breakthrough that would restore public confidence in the ability of government and security agencies to protect lives and property across the country.

According to him, the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers has brought immense relief to their families, relatives, and residents of Oyo State, who had anxiously awaited their freedom.

He praised President Tinubu and Governor Makinde for providing the political leadership and demonstrating the resolve needed to confront terrorism, kidnapping, and other security threats.

The traditional ruler said the collaboration between the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, local government authorities, traditional institutions, and security agencies showed that Nigeria could overcome insecurity through unity and coordinated action.

“I commend President Tinubu and Governor Makinde for choosing the hard but right way to tackle the problem. They demonstrated strong leadership at a time it was most needed. Their actions have restored hope and inspired patriotism,” he said.

Oba Alao also paid tribute to members of the security forces who participated in the rescue operation, acknowledging the sacrifices made by officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the fallen personnel and asked God to grant comfort to their families.

The monarch further urged residents of rural and border communities to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.

He also appealed to the government to strengthen community-based security measures to prevent a recurrence of the Oriire abduction and sustain the gains recorded in the fight against kidnapping and other criminal activities.
