The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board (LGSPB), Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, has congratulated Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In a message made available to journalists on Friday, Ige extended his felicitations to the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal, Muslim clerics, retired primary school teachers, local government staff, and the entire Muslim Ummah in the state.
He urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the exemplary teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly love, charity, forgiveness, perseverance, tolerance, unity, and devotion to prayer.
“On behalf of the Permanent Secretary, management, and entire staff of the board, I congratulate all Muslim faithful in Nigeria, Oyo State, and our esteemed pensioners on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration. I pray you will witness many more in the land of the living,” he said.
Hon. Ige also called on Muslims to continue to pray for leaders at all levels, especially the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, asking God to grant him wisdom to steer the affairs of the state.
“Let us also pray for economic stability, peace, and the progress of our dear nation,” he added.
