The youngest and first-time member of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Sadiq Yahaya Attajiri, has empowered no fewer than 525 constituents in Bade Central Constituency with motorcycles, cash grants and other economic support items.

Hon. Attajiri, who represents Bade Central under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is the only opposition lawmaker in the Assembly.
At a well-attended empowerment programme in Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State, the lawmaker distributed 70 motorcycles, 300 bags of soya beans (popularly called suya beans), hundreds of sewing machines, water pumps, solar panels and bicycles to beneficiaries across the constituency.

In addition to the items, the lawmaker also disbursed a total sum of N9 million in cash to selected constituents to support small-scale businesses and boost household incomes.
Speaking at the event, Attajiri said the initiative was part of his commitment to improving the living standards of his people, reducing poverty and promoting self-reliance among youths and women in Bade Central.
He noted that despite being in the opposition, he remains focused on delivering dividends of democracy to his constituents, stressing that representation goes beyond party lines.
Beneficiaries, drawn from different wards in the constituency, commended the lawmaker for what they described as a rare gesture by a first-time Assembly member.
